Westââ¬â¢s Milton and the Angels consists of ten chapters which are divided into two main sections. The first half of the book expounds upon the history of the study of angels in the Western hemisphere and then in England specifically. The second half of the book examines the titular subject of John Miltonââ¬â¢s propositions on angels. The final chapter of the work, reiterates and summarizes all nine previous chapters to reveal their larger purpose and significance within the book itself and within Miltonââ¬â¢s entire career. In chapters six and seven, West introduces Miltonââ¬â¢s angelology and examines the choices he makes throughout his literature to maintain a specific representation of the angels and other supernatural subjects.
